Peritus Trimboard/Siding
PeritusTMBoard is an alternative to wood, medium density fiberboard (MDF), plastic orfiber cement board (such as Eternit® or James Hardie® products). PeritusTM Board is designed for non-structural,finish materials in both interior and exterior commercial and residentialbuildings. Applications include flushinstallation on finished walls (e.g., baseboard, chair rail, crown molding,wainscoting, picture molding, etc.), around architectural openings (e.g.,window trim, door trim, etc.) and for trim, fascia, and other applications suchas wall paneling or exterior siding.
PeritusTM technology is based uponextruded cementitious composite technology and is made of abundant and commonlyavailable material components such as standard Portland cement, cellulose orother fiber, and natural limestone or other inorganic fillers. PeritusTM Board canuse over 50% recycled materials exceeding the minimal LEED® certificationrequirements. Resistance to water, oilsor other solvents is also possible using standard industry coating agentsand/or primer.
PeritusTMTrimboard can be painted, stained, cut, trimmed, routed, nailed, stapled,screwed or bonded using standard wood working equipment. It is manufactured in four standard grades:natural, textured, smooth, and finish grade as well as custom finishes. Thesurface can be painted or manufactured with integral colors not requiringadditional painting. Custom finishes resembling wood, marble, rough sawn cedar,and other decorative surfaces may be produced. When properly sealed, the productsare water repellent and stain resistant. PeritusTMBoard may be manufactured in a variety of dimensions ¼" - 4" thick, up to 27"wide and 16' long; however, standard nominal dimensions are: 1" x 2", 1" x 4",1" x 6", and 1" x 8", standard lengths are eight (8), twelve (12) and fourteen(14) feet. As a true replacement product, PeritusTM Trimboard can be handled inmuch the same manner as wood, using standard woodworking tools and methods, aswell as standard fastening systems and methods (e.g., nails, screws, adhesives,etc.). The material may also be treated using customary stone workingtechniques, such as sandblasting, engraving, etc. It is available in many finishes, textures,and colors. PeritusTM Trimboard is wellsuited for use as an alternative to wood, MDF or PVC trim for both interior andexterior applications.
